The Inspiration

The primary inspiration for the tartan is the Palestinian flag and the Kufiyah scarf. The design contains the colours of the flag, black, white and green in addition to a red triangle on the mast side, with each colour carrying a specific meaning. The design further incorporates the original threads from the Kufiyah and current status of Palestinian refugees around the world.
